4 weeks before the treatment
Do not have cosmetic injections (such as Botox or Fillers) on the forehead or the area of the procedure for at least 4 weeks before your appointment. For lip procedures, please also AVOID lip fillers up to 4 weeks after the procedure.1-2 weeks before the treatment
Avoid sun tanning or tanning beds for 2 weeks before the procedure. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn it will take the pigment. Tanned skin is damaged skin, and your color will not heal properly.72 hours before the treatment
Please avoid any type of blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours before your procedure unless it is unsafe to do so for your health. Please ask your doctor before stopping any of the medication that was prescribed by your doctor. Examples of medications to avoid are Vitamin B3, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Advil, Niacin, Voltaren, or Indocid. As well as Vitamin E or nutritional shakes. Tylenol is recommended if you have a low pain tolerance. You may resume taking these medications after the procedure. For lip procedures, please keep your lips moisturized and always stay hydrated. Dry and cracked lips tend to affect how much of the pigment is retained by your lips. If possible, lightly scrub your lips to remove dry skin. If you are prone to mouth or cold sore, please consult your primary physician and request a prescription for an Anti-Viral medication or any medication that can help reduce the chance of an outbreak.24 hours before the treatment
Please AVOID consuming any caffeine or alcohol. These act as blood thinners, which can cause the skin to be hypersensitive and bleed/bruise more easily. Excessive bleeding and easy bruising will also put you at higher risk for infection. Please AVOID working out or excessive sweating the day of the procedure. *Please also know that if you are on your menstrual cycle during the time of treatment, your sensitivity to pain may be heightened.
